A UX Mindset While in Quarantine

My mind is jammed packed with so much stuff, it wouldn’t be right not to include what’s really going on in the world right now, and how much being in quarantine underneath the wrath of Coronavirus, has affected and impacted our lives in some way.

Amongst all the chaos, from school closures, flight cancelations, and people required to work from home, it’s easy to feel lost and scared during these tough times.

Not the most cheerful way to introduce the topic of a UX mindset, but I don’t think I should or anyone should pretend that fear doesn’t exist in UX… it’s what UX is all about.

Fear is everywhere, but in order to face that fear you gotta be brave. Now, that’s the mindset of a UX designer… being brave.

Ask for help

You won’t have all the answers. Reach out to the people around you and learn something new

Speak up & Help others

Trust yourself. Let people get to know you. You will always have something to offer! People might be going through the same thing

Have an Open Mind

Your ideas are subject to change… let go and embrace those changes

Empathy

Always create a judgement free zone

Be Gentle with Yourself

Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re constantly learning

Humility

Perfection is bogus!!!

A UX mindset is fearless. It’s about showing up in ways when you’re most afraid, but knowing that there will always be a way to overcome any obstacle with the right tools.
